Mango is a Java application, so will require Java to be installed. It comes with native installers for Windows, Mac and Linux. Small and fast, it's a good tool for examining new files and those with unknown structure. It is particularly useful for low-level operations on files as it can read a wide range of image formats as well as raw files.

Useful functions

Display basic information about an image file

File -> Image info

Open a file as raw, specifying image dimensions

Open -> Open Raw Image

Get image statistics of current volume

Analysis -> Image Statistics -> Volume
